More rain spreads into western Europe this weekend
Friday Patchy rain moves into western Spain and Portugal. Showery for the Biscay coasts. Low pressure over the western Mediterranean brings heavy rain for the Balearics, Sardinia and Corsica. Heavy rain too for southern France and northwest Italy, snow in the mountains. Dry much of the day for southern Italy and the Balkans. Mainland Greece is fine, but heavy thundery rain affects the Greek islands and Turkey. Showers for northern coasts of France, but the Low Countries will be largely dry. A front brings rain to central Germany and into Switzerland. Dry for Austria, Hungary and Poland. Much of eastern Europe will be dry, but heavy rain affects the Black Sea coasts of Romania and Bulgaria. Snow flurries for Baltic coasts of Sweden, rain and snow for southern Norway. A few snow flurries in Finland. Rain for Denmark.
Saturday Dry and sunny for much of Spain, some rain in the northwest. Patchy rain for western coasts of Portugal. Showery for Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia, but dry for the Balearics. Much of Italy will be dry, local coastal showers. A few showers for the Greek islands. Unsettled with heavy bursts for Turkey and Cyprus. A frontal system moves into western Europe with heavy rain moving across France, the Low Countries and into Germany by afternoon. Dry for the Alps before snow and rain arrives from the west later. Patchy rain and snow for Poland and Czechia. Chilly to the north and east. Snow for eastern Sweden. Windy for the Baltic states and Finland. Rain into southern Norway and Denmark.
